A friend of mine asked me what I was going to do with all the doll quilts I was making. I showed her this photo and told her this was my goal. The photo is from the book Collecting American Country.
I bought that book years ago just for this picture and the one with the socks and houswif and dresses.. yes thats my goal to to make an art gallery style hall way full of little quilts ! Kathie
Did she think you were nuts? My sister thinks I'm nuts for making lots of quilts. The latest comment is that I am going to become a quilt hoarder! I would love a wall like that too!
My friend is a quilter who makes full sized quilts. When I showed her the photo, she thought this was a great idea. I have made hundreds of quilts in the past 30+ years, and have dozens of unquilted tops, many made by my husband's great-aunt. And, of course, I continue to make full sized quilts too. I am obsessed. In a good way, of course! :-)
This is the best wall!! I too have made and collected wonderful mini/doll quilts and have started my wall of beauty too. I am sure you will reach your goal quickly and with great style
