What I'm Working On

I was looking at one of my back issues of Quiltmania , in particular this issue:

See that little pinwheel quilt on the headboard?

Here's a closer look.

That's the doll quilt I'm making as my first one of 2011!

Isn't that fun to look at magazines and spark an idea? Especially from a little, hidden piece. Good choice!

What issue of Quiltmania is that? I just adore that cover quilt! The little pinwheel is cute. Watch this video for an easy way to do pinwheel blocks.

Hi Monique,

What a surprise that you are so inspired by my quilts you found in Quiltmania. What an honor. The quilt you are talking about in this post is the first quilt I ever made! It is a doll quilt made for my daugther. She was 5 years old at that time.(now she is already 19) I made it using my scissors and a BIG needle. The fabrics are not all quilting fabrics. The muslin I used was from the market, a heavy quality which shrunk a lot after washing. If you like I will send you the measurements.

Thank you for mention me at your block again.

With warm regards,

lucy

Please do send me the measurements! And from the photo it looked like in one block at least you used squares in two sections of the block. I'm not certain as the photo is so small, but that's what I'm doing. I am also using muslin for the sashing.

Thank you so much for writing! I've realized that I have a link to your blog on mine, but as you don't use the "followers" feature, I forget to read it. :-(
